The department of Bengali Language and Literature in Shirakole Mahavidyalaya established in 2007 when the college started its journey. As Bengali is vernacular, we got a huge response from starting. At the initial stage we offered Bengali General courses and Compulsory Bengali course. Honours courses started from the session 2013-14.

The department of English Literature had been established in the year 2007. It caters to the basic needs of students. Faculties of our department are dedicated to the task of making English language and literature accessible to everyone.

The department of Education was established in the initial years (2007-2008) offering only General course. In the session 2010-2011 the first Honours course was started in the college in this department.
